Vice-Chancellor International Scholarships Scheme is offered at The University of Sydney to international students who are pursuing a Masters’s Degree. Vice-Chancellor International Scholarships Scheme is valued at AUD 20000 for a maximum number of students, depending on the University student who qualifies from The University of Sydney. Also, the Vice-Chancellor International Scholarships Scheme is a one-time tuition-reducing scholarship, offered in the first year of a Master’s Degree only. Applications for the Vice-Chancellor International Scholarships Scheme at The University of Sydney are filed separately. The eligibility of the students to qualify for Vice-Chancellor International Scholarships Scheme would solely depend on the applicant’s admission to The University of Sydney Masters Degree, his/her aptitude for an overall contribution towards The University of Sydney community and of course the academic achievements.

Additional InformationSelection Criteria.
The Scholarship will be awarded based on academic merit as assessed from a student’s application for admission to an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree.
The Scholarship will be awarded on the nomination of a selection committee consisting of two nominees of the Executive Director, Sydney Future Students, and one nominee of the Admissions Office.
Termination The Scholarship will be terminated if the recipient:
i withdraw from an eligible course or fail to enroll,
ii becomes a domestic student.
iii commences part-time study without prior approval,
iv does not maintain satisfactory academic performance,
v is determined by the University to be guilty of serious misconduct, including, but not limited to, having provided false or misleading information as part of their Scholarship application,
vi has accepted another scholarship administered by the University of Sydney (funded by the University or by a third party), of a value at or exceeding A$10,000 per annum,
vii does not resume study at the end of a period of approved leave, or.
viii any other provision as indicated in these terms that would lead to termination.
b Where a student is found guilty of serious misconduct or withdraws from the relevant course, the University reserves the right to request that any Scholarship funds paid to the Scholarship recipient be reimbursed.

Scholarship Eligibility

Scholarship EligibilityApplicants:

  • must have either:
  • an Australian Bachelor of Engineering degree with a 65 percent average, or equivalent qualification or
  • an Australian bachelor’s degree in a non-Engineering discipline with a 65 percent average, with studies equivalent to 48 credit points (equivalent to 1 year full time study load) in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, geology, computing or statistics, as related to the stream sought for admission
  • must satisfy the English language proficiency requirement by submitting one of the following tests:
  • IELTS- Overall score of 65, with a minimum score of 60 in each band
  • TOEFL- Overall score of 85, with a minimum of 17 in reading, listening and speaking and 19 in writing
  • PTE- Overall score of 61 with minimum result of 54 in each band
  • Must have applied for but not yet commenced a bachelor’s degree or a coursework master’s degree that is a CRICOS registered award program usually delivered onshore at the University of Sydney
  • To continue receipt of the Scholarship, the recipient must maintain a minimum semester average mark of 65 and have no outstanding tuition fees
  • must be willing to promote the program in which they are enrolled as well as represent the University of Sydney at student orientation, marketing events and corporate networking events
