The Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship (VCIS) is awarded to recognise academic excellence for international students. This is a highly competitive scholarship based on academic merit and is awarded to talented students intending to pursue a Bachelor’s or Master’s coursework degree at Macquarie University. This scholarship provides up to AUD $10,000 applied towards your tuition fee. This is a very limited scholarship, so we encourage you to accept your offer and scholarship early to avoid disappointment.

Application process:

  • Applicants must complete an online course application form Once your course application has been processed, you will receive a Macquarie University Student Number which is compulsory to submit the online scholarship application form
  • Applicants must complete an online scholarship application form and type “VCIS” in the Scholarship Name field

Additional Information:

  • This scholarship is for on-campus study only (available for students studying online and/or offshore as a result of COVID-19)
  • Students are not eligible if they have applied or are currently enrolled at Macquarie University International College
  • Students are not eligible if they are a citizen of Australia or New Zealand or hold permanent residency in Australia
  • If Students withdraw from their program before completion, they may be required to repay any scholarship previously awarded to them during their study period at Macquarie University based on the outcome as decided by the scholarships and grants committee
  • Students who have received any other Macquarie University scholarship will not be eligible for this scholarship

 

Scholarship Eligibility

  • Applicants must meet the academic and English requirements for a Macquarie University Postgraduate Coursework Degree
  • Applicants must have achieved a minimum WAM equivalent of 65
  • Applicants must be accepted into a Macquarie University Bachelor or Postgraduate Coursework Degree commencing in 2022 or 2023
  • Applicants need to maintain their enrolment throughout the course in a full-time study load which is 8 standard units per academic year
  • Applicants also need to enroll and begin their course as per their Letter of Offer Commencement may not be deferred
  • Applicants also need to meet the University’s Academic progression policy
  • English Language requirements:
    • TOEFL: Minimum of 12 in listening,13 in reading and 18 in speaking, and 21 in writing
    • IELTS: Minimum 6.0 in each band
    • PTE: Minimum of 50 in each sub-section
