The program in Jurisprudence explores the nature of law and its role in society. This course tackles classic jurisprudential questions, focusing on what is known as the “theory of adjudication,” the theory of how judges decide cases and how they should decide them. Do legal rules and doctrines constrain legal decision-making (and if so, how)? What makes something a legal rule? Is there some necessary connection between law and morality (perhaps inherent in the concept of rights)? Is judicial decision-making different from political decision-making (and if so, how)? The program will look back at some of the classic cases that students read in con law, civil procedure, and property and see how they reflect different jurisprudential approaches.

Eligibility Requirements:

To be eligible for admission into the undergraduate program, applicants must have completed their high school diploma/senior secondary school from an institute accredited by the State or National board of Education. Applicants will also be asked to provide supporting documentation as part of their application, including secondary/high school transcripts showing the date of graduation, submission of English proficiency test scores, and other documents. Applicants are required to provide proof of sufficient funds for the course duration.
