Carnegie Mellon University is a global research university located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was established by the famous industrialist Andrew Carnegie in 1900. The university was later renamed the Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1912. It merged with the Mellon Institute of Industrial Research in 1967, which led to its present incarnation.
