Carnegie Mellon University is a global research university located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was established by the famous industrialist Andrew Carnegie in 1900. The university was later renamed the Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1912. It merged with the Mellon Institute of Industrial Research in 1967, which led to its present incarnation. CMU is a globally ranked institute standing firm on the motto, ‘My heart is in work.’ 

CMU is ranked among the top 50 colleges in 2021 by Forbes. It welcomes students with an acceptance rate of 15% and provides top-notch degrees through various campuses ranging from Silicon Valley to Qatar, Africa, and Australia. The Silicon Valley campus is considered the epitome of Master’s programs, including Software Engineering. CMU is home to more than 14000 students from 110 countries across the world.
