Appication Process for this scholarship

To secure your scholarship, take the following steps:

  • Apply for admission to Eastern Michigan University. They have already waived the $35 application fee for you!
  • If you meet the criteria, you can opt-in to receiving the 4ward Scholarship If you’d like more information or steps to opt-in, reach out to your Admissions Advisor or email 4ward_scholarship@emichedu
  • Financial Aid will reach out to you with a Terms & Conditions contract to be signed and returned by a specified deadline
  • Sign the contract and return to Financial Aid and your financial aid award will be updated
  • Continue to meet all terms and conditions in years 1 and 2 and receive the 4WARD scholarship in years 3 and 4

Scholarship Application:
Students will be auto-considered for this scholarship when they apply for the courses on which this scholarship is applicable.
No separate application is needed.

Additional Information:

  • Official transcripts: Submit official high school/secondary transcript with English translation (students cannot do their own translations) in an official, school-sealed envelope
  • Financial documents

  • Proof of SAT score
  • Submit copies of passport and United States VISAs to the Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS)
  • The 4WARD Graduation Scholarship is a fall-start only scholarship and it does not cover summer classes
  • It is an award for eight consecutive semesters. If students drop out for a semester or two, the scholarship will no longer available

Scholarship Eligibility

  • To initially qualify, students need to have a minimum 30 high school GPA and 20 ACT or 1030 SAT (on 1600 scale)
  • Students must live in an on-campus community for each of the four years at a locked-in room and board rate of approximately $11,600 a year, which includes a standard double room and a standard meal plan
