Scholarship Overview

University of Southern California offers the Asian Pacific Alumni Association Scholarship. Every year, the International Students Office of University of Southern California awards scholarships to degree-seeking students who have specified financial needs. Note that a large portion of the scholarship funds come from International student tuition. Asian Pacific Alumni Association Scholarship is applicable for Bachelors Degree. The award is applicable for the courses like Bachelor of Architecture,Bachelor of Science in Computer Science,BS in Business Administration,Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering,BS in Accounting,Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering,Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Amount varies in the scholarship.
In the 2020-2021 academic year, USC awarded over $200,000 in scholarships to 80 USC undergraduate and graduate students of exceptional academic merit who demonstrated a commitment to serving the Asian Pacific community.
Eleven cultures and fifty majors were represented within this class, and more than half qualified to receive need-based financial aid.

Appication Process for this scholarship

  • LOR: ONE letter of recommendation from an individual familiar with applicant’s involvement in community organizations
    • It is encouraged, though not specifically required, that applicant’s involvement be focused on serving an Asian Pacific community
  • The applicant will also be asked to list an additional reference from a person familiar with applicant’s academic work
    • Academic reference DOES NOT have to submit a written letter of recommendation
  • Application Process: Applicant would be required to submit an online application

Scholarship Eligibility

  • Applicants must be full-time students (undergraduate, transfer, graduate or professional) enrolled in a USC degree program for the entire 2021-2022 academic year (fall and spring semesters)
  • Incoming first-year students who have not enrolled at the time of application are not eligible
  • Applicant must have achieved a minimum of an overall 30-grade point average (on a 40 scale) in his/her coursework (USC Medical students who do not receive grade points are exempt)
  • Interview: New applicant finalists will be selected for a personal interview (Renewal applicants will not need to participate in an interview)
  • Preference will be given to the following candidates:
    • Additional positive consideration will be given to Asian Pacific students or students who have shown a commitment to the Asian Pacific community
