Scholarship Eligibility

  • Applicant must be below 35 (Thirty-Five) years, as on the first day of the month of the advertisement of the Scheme
  • Applicant must have 60% marks or equivalent grade in relevant Bachelors’ Degree
  • Not more than two children of the same parents/guardians will be eligible and to this effect, a self-certification will be required from the candidate
  • An awardee cannot be considered for the award on a subsequent occasion as the award can be given only once
  • The second child of the same parents/guardians will be considered only if the slots are still available for the year

Scholarship Restriction:

  • Must return to home country after course completion
  • Limitation on total family income
  • Total family income from all sources shall not exceed Rs. 8,00,000 (Rs. Eight lakhs per annum)

Additional Information:

  • Desirous candidates should apply to the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in response to the detailed advertisement when issued by the Ministry
  • A selected candidate is required to avail the award within one year of receipt of intimation from this Ministry regarding selection for the award/assurance. On expiry of this specified period of time, the award automatically gets cancelled
  • After a candidate has obtained confirmed admission in a foreign educational institution, the candidate is required to intimate the same to this Ministry which in turn may get it verified through the Indian Missions abroad
  • After receipt of the confirmation of the admission, this Ministry will issue the ‘confirmed award letter’ to the concerned candidate, wherein the details of the course, educational institution etc. will be also mentioned
