Scholarship amount details

  • All Clarendon scholarships cover course fees in full
  • Scholars on a full-time course will receive an annual grant for living expenses of at least the minimum Research Council doctoral stipend rate, which is normally sufficient to cover the living costs of a single student living in Oxford
  • In 2021-22, you should expect to receive at least £15,609
  • Conversion rate used: 1 Pound = Rs. 104.90 (last updated 7th December 2023)

Appication Process for this scholarship

  • LOR: Applicants need to submit 2 professional or academic references
  • Personal Statement: Demonstrating evidence of applicants’ commitment to his/her proposed course
  • Transcripts are required
  • As part of the application, applicants will need to submit a supporting statement:“Tell us something that is not covered in your application which you would like the Admissions Committee to know about you” (Maximum 250 words)
  • Applicants will need to complete five questions via our online assessment platform:
    • Two motivation-based questions – all candidates will answer the same questions
    • Two competency-based questions – these will be randomized
    • Written response – this will be randomized and light-hearted to show us how you can think on your feet
  • CV: Applicants need to submit a comprehensive 1 page CV outlining the academic and professional profile
  • Other Documents: Evidence of previous university prizes or awards; information on overall position within applicants’ cohort; and publications (if applicable)
  • To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must apply for admission for the course by the January admissions deadline
  • Majority of offers are sent out by early April of each year
  • If candidates have not heard from the university by June, they should assume they have not been awarded a Clarendon scholarship

Scholarship Eligibility

  • Applicants must have:
    • An excellent academic record is essential
    • A high first-class honours degree or its equivalent (a GPA score of at least 3.7 if the mark is out of 4, noting that most successful candidates achieve a score higher than 37) or an outstanding academic record at master’s level is necessary (noting that an outstanding master’s degree can compensate for a moderate first-degree performance)
    • Other evidence of high academic achievement may include individual marks on student transcripts; evidence of previous university prizes or awards; information on your overall position within your cohort; and publications (if applicable)
  • IELTS: 7.5 with min score of 7.0 in each component
  • GMAT/ GRE:
    • Candidates are recommended to apply with a GMAT score of 650 or above
    • Recommended score for Sub-sections Verbal score of 160 and Quantitative score of 160
  • Work Experience: Applicants should have at least two years of previous full-time work experience
  • Interview: It is part of MBA admission process
  • Applicants with a full-time degree-level course of a minimum of nine months, at a recognised institution, where the medium of instruction and assessment was entirely in English can be exempted from the English proficiency exam at the discretion of the University
  • Particular consideration is given to an applicant’s future academic potential and aptitude for the proposed course of study
  • This may be assessed by reviewing references and research proposals to determine evidence of an applicant’s aptitude for research and the likelihood of contributing significantly to the field of study
