  • Clarendon scholarships cover course fees in full
  • Scholars on a full-time course will receive an annual grant for living expenses of at least the minimum Research Council doctoral stipend rate, which is normally sufficient to cover the living costs of a single student living in Oxford
  • In 2022-23, the applicant should expect to receive at least £15,609

Scholarship Eligibility

  • Applicants should hold or be predicted to achieve the equivalent of the following UK qualifications: a first-class undergraduate degree with honours in computer science or mathematics
  • For applicants with a degree from the USA, the minimum GPA sought is 37 out of 40
  • IELTS: 75 with a min score of 70 in each component
  • Interview: Interviews are normally held as part of the admissions process and take place throughout the year
  • Candidates will be shortlisted based on academic ability and fit with the course
  • The interview will generally be by telephone or by Skype (preferably with video) by a member of the admissions committee
  • Applicants with a full-time degree-level course of a minimum of nine months, at a recognized institution, where the medium of instruction and assessment was entirely in English can be exempted from the English proficiency exam at the discretion of the University
