The scholarship can be used in conjunction with other scholarships awarded by the College of Computing.

Scholarship Eligibility

  • Scholarship values vary based on applicants’ GPA, GRE score, and academic/professional experiences
  • A bachelor’s degree, although not necessarily in computer science, is required with a minimum overall GPA of 30/40
  • Four-year bachelor’s degree in any field; three-year bachelor’s degrees must be conferred in First Class with Distinction from an NAAC Grade “A” Indian institution
  • Applicants are evaluated on an individual basis but are expected to have basic knowledge of discrete mathematics, linear algebra, probability, statistics, relational databases, and some programming such as Matlab, C++, Java, Python, or Ruby
  • Applicants lacking prerequisite coursework but who are otherwise strong candidates (ie, with relevant work experience) may be admitted, but these applicants would be required to make up any needed coursework
  • Applicants must have completed the equivalent of the following fundamental undergraduate coursework to begin the Master of Data Science degree program:
  • Computer Science:
  • Accelerated Introduction to Computer Science
  • Introduction to Advanced Studies
  • Knowledge of any high-level programming language, such as C or Python, as well as object-oriented programming, can be substituted for knowledge of C++ or Java
  • Mathematics: Calculus
  • Elementary Linear Algebra
  • Probability and Statistics
  • ELP requirements:
    • TOEFL: a minimum section score of 20
    • IELTS: a minimum section score of 65
    • PTE: a minimum section score of 53
  • GRE: 304 (quantitative + verbal) and 25 (analytic writing)
