International Freshman Merit Scholarships is offered by the Iowa State University . International Freshman Merit Scholarships is awarded to Bachelors Degree students who can demonstrate excellent academic achievement and the potential to contribute to the university community. This Merit Based scholarship will be given every year. The scholarship amount can be used for tuition. The maximum scholarship amount a student can get is USD 10000. . Students will be auto-considered for this scholarship if they apply for the courses on which this scholarship is applicable. In this case, they need not submit a separate application for applying to this scholarship.

Scholarship amount details

  • Students will be awarded Up to $40,000 ($5,000/yr–$10,000/yr) for the duration of the program (4 years)
    Renewal Requirements
  • Minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 while enrolled at Iowa State
  • Continuous enrollment in a minimum of 12 semester credits each semester (summers not included)
  • The award may only be used toward undergraduate tuition and fees
  • Only students assessed non-resident tuition are eligible for this award
  • Freshman recipients will be funded for a maximum of 8 semesters, or completion of the degree, whichever comes first
