Scholarship Overview

Each year, Loyalist College awards a number of scholarships and bursaries to registered international students. Applications are only available to registered students at our Belleville campus.

This scholarship is applicable for Masters Certificate, Bachelors Diploma, Bachelors Certificate The scholarship applies to new students registered in their first year of their one, two, or three-year program

Scholarship amount details

The scholarship amount varied from CAD $1000 – CAD $1500.
The scholarships will be paid to the student’s account in two equal payments in October 2021 and February 2022.
Conversion rate used: 1 CAD = Rs. 61.33 (last updated 7th December 2023).
Scholarship amount will be given: One Time.

Appication Process for this scholarship

• Students will be required to attach/upload a copy of their English literacy score or GPA record to their application
• Awards applications can be submitted online through the myLoyalist Portal
• Once all documentation is submitted, the review process begins by the Awards Officer
• This process can take up to four weeks
• The myLoyalist Portal will be available for new and returning students on August 23, 2021, at 12 pm EST
• No specific deadline is available
• Students who receive this scholarship can also apply for other scholarships offered by Loyalist College, including the Athletic Scholarship and the Student Government Needs-Based Bursary
• Students will receive an email to their Loyalist College email account from the Awards Officer letting them know if they will be receiving the scholarship and the next steps
• If students have a balance on their student account the scholarship funding will be applied to that balance
• Students who do not have a balance owing on their account will be issued a cheque to their Canadian address listed in Banner
• This takes up to three weeks to process once they have been selected as a scholarship recipient

Scholarship Eligibility

• A scholarship will be awarded to registered students who meet the benchmarks as listed below and who are in class on Day 10 for Fall (September 21, 2021) and Winter (January 24, 2022) semesters
• Applicants must fulfill English language requirement:
  • IELTS: With an overall score of 75, applicants will receive a discount of CAD $1000
    • With an overall score of 80 and above, applicants will receive a discount of CAD $1500
  • TOEFL:
    • With an overall score of 70 – 89, applicants will receive a discount of CAD $1000
    • With an overall score of 90 and above, applicants will receive a discount of CAD $1500
  • PTE: With an overall score of 65 – 78, applicants will receive a discount of CAD $1000
    • With an overall score of 79 and above, applicants will receive a discount of CAD $1500
• Applicants must:
  • Be registered as a Loyalist College student at the Belleville campus
  • Be starting their program for Fall 2021
  • Be registered and attending classes on Day 10 of the Fall (September 21, 2021) and Winter (January 24, 2022) semesters
  • Possess a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN)
