Postgraduate Academic Excellence Awards is a type of scholarship which is awarded for pursuing Master of Data Science and Innovation at University of Technology, Sydney. A student can get a maximum amount of AUD 15490 and the scholarship amount will be given one time only. The scholarship amount can be used for paying tuition. To be eligible for the award, applicants must have completed their Bachelor degree and passed the 12th grade. Foreign students wishing to apply for this scholarship must take English proficiency exams such as TOEFL, IELTS and PTE. For the purpose of receiving the scholarship, students must have job experience. Students will require the following documentation to apply for the scholarship: CV and Official Transcripts.

  • Personal statement: Explain (approx 500 words) why the applicant wishes to study the course they are applying for
  • UTS International will automatically consider all commencing international students applying for a postgraduate coursework program at UTS in Sydney for this Scholarship
  • There is no separate scholarship application or documentation in addition to what is required for the coursework application
  • Closing date for application for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate coursework from international students based outside Australia for Autumn session 2021
  • Be studying a UTS online degree or distance mode degree; or
  • Have completed academic studies in Australia prior to commencing at UTS; and

Selection Process:
Academic merit in the most recently completed tertiary qualification or the GMAT exam (for admission into the Master of Business Administration only) recognised by UTS for entry into the selected UTS Master degree by coursework program.

Scholarship Eligibility

  • The academic qualification used to support the application for admission must:
    • Have been completed with a GPA of at least 40 on a 700 GPA scale, and
    • Be in a relevant discipline, such as information technology, mathematical sciences, physics and astronomy, engineering, accounting, business and management, banking, finance and related fields, or economics and econometrics
  • Applicants must have completed a UTS recognized bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, or submitted other evidence of general and professional qualifications that demonstrate potential to pursue graduate studies
  • Applicants must satisfy the English Language Proficiency requirement with one of the following tests:
    • IELTS – Overall 65 with a writing score of 60
    • TOEFL – Overall score of 79 with a writing score of 21
    • PTE – Score of 58-64
