Scholarship Overview

National University of Singapore offers the Science & Technology Undergraduate Scholarship. Every year, the International Students Office of National University of Singapore awards scholarships to degree-seeking students who have specified financial needs. Note that a large portion of the scholarship funds come from International student tuition. Science & Technology Undergraduate Scholarship is applicable for Bachelors Degree. The award is applicable for the courses like BSc (Hons) in Life Sciences,Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering),B.Eng. (Electrical Engineering),Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Engineering),Bachelor of Computing (Honours) in Computer Science,Bachelor of Engineering (Civil),B.Sc. in Physics,Bachelor of Computing in Information Systems. If we consider the amount of the Science & Technology Undergraduate Scholarship, then it varies each semester. The applicants should review the scholarship application in order to fully understand the availability and amount for that particular semester. Students must have taken the 12th grade to be eligible for this scholarship. To be eligible for this award, international students must take English language examinations as well as standardised exams like TOEFL, IELTS, SAT. As part of the selection process, students must attend an interview.

The scholarship also covers students in local Double Degree Programmes, provided the scholar’s home course is in:

• Computing
• Engineering
• Science (excluding Pharmacy)
• Environmental Studies (Environmental Biology specialization only)

 

Scholarship amount details

The scholarship amount includes-

• Tuition fees (after MOE Tuition Grant Subsidy) and compulsory fees- S$17,550 (for tuition) & S$213 (compulsory fee)
• Annual living allowance- S$6,000
• One-time settling-in allowance upon enrolment- S$200
• Annual accommodation allowance equivalent to the lowest double room rate for on-campus accommodation- S$3800
• One-way air passage from home country to Singapore at the beginning of the course of study, and return air passage from Singapore to home country at the end of the course
• The scholarship will be monitored and renewed every semester provided the scholar maintains a Cumulative Average Point (CAP) of at least 3.5 (or equivalent) and good conduct
• The scholarship is tenable for the normal course duration of the undergraduate course at NUS
• Conversion rate used: 1 SGD = Rs. 55.25 (last updated 7th December 2023)

Scholarship Eligibility

• Have completed Indian Standard 12 (CBSE/ISCE/State and other boards) with a good pass in 5 subjects, including English
• Year 12 or higher level pass in Mathematics
• Be citizens of an Asian country, excluding Singapore
• Have strong leadership qualities and potential
• Present excellent co-curricular activities records
• Possess outstanding high school results
• SAT is required only for Indian standard 12 (State Boards & Other boards)
• Interview:
  • Applicants shortlisted for the selection interview(s) will be informed via e-mail
  • Will be required to provide a submission furnishing their co-curricular activity and other achievements, and a personal statement, before the interview(s)
• Selection interviews will be conducted from March to June, and shortlisted candidates will be informed of the scholarship outcomes by mid-July
• Recipients of the scholarship (scholars) are required to serve a six-year bond with a Singapore-registered company immediately upon graduation
