National University of Singapore offers the Science & Technology Undergraduate Scholarship. Every semester, the International Students Office of National University of Singapore awards scholarships to degree-seeking students who have specified financial needs. Note that a large portion of the scholarship funds come from International student tuition. Science & Technology Undergraduate Scholarship is applicable for Bachelors Degree. Students must have taken the 12th grade to be eligible for this scholarship. To be eligible for this award, international students must take English language examinations as well as standardised exams like TOEFL, IELTS, SAT. As part of the selection process, students must attend an interview.

Application process

  • All applicants for undergraduate admission to NUS will be considered automatically for the scholarship through their applications for admission
  • Applicants will be assessed on their suitability for the scholarship, based on the strength of their applications and/or their performance in the scholarship selection interview(s), if shortlisted
  • Applicants shortlisted for the selection interview(s) will be informed via e-mail and will be required to provide a submission furnishing their co-curricular activity and other achievements, and a personal statement, before the interview(s) Selection interviews will be conducted from March to June, and shortlisted candidates will be informed of the scholarship outcomes by mid-July

Additional Information:

  • Scholars may not concurrently hold any other scholarship, fellowship, bursary, grant, award or allowance without prior approval from the University
  • Scholars will be required to take part in community involvement programmes or projects deemed appropriate and/or directed by the University
  • NUS reserves the right not to award any scholarship if there are no candidates of sufficient merit. The decision of the selection committee is final. Enquiries or disputes surrounding its decisions will not be entertained
  • Scholars are restricted to 1 semester of the overseas programme(s) (including but not restricted to NUS Overseas Colleges and overseas Student Exchange Programme) for the entire course of their undergraduate studies

 

Scholarship Eligibility

Applicants must

  • Have completed Indian Standard 12 (CBSE/ISCE/State and other boards) with a good pass in 5 subjects including English
  • Year 12 or higher level pass in Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry
  • Students without H2 or H1 Physics need to have ‘O’ level Physics or equivalent and will be required to take specified Physics bridging modules
  • Be citizens of an Asian country, excluding Singapore
  • Have strong leadership qualities and potential
  • Present excellent co-curricular activities records
  • Possess outstanding high school results
  • SAT is required with certain conditions:
  • Evidence-Based Reading and Writing-600, and 650 for Mathematics
  • Applicants are required to submit 3 subject tests as follows:
  • Mathematics Level 2 is a compulsory subject for all courses
  • A second subject of their choice (excluding Mathematics Level 1)
  • A third subject of their choice (excluding Mathematics Level 1)
  • Recipients of the scholarship (scholars) are required to serve a six-year bond with a Singapore-registered company immediately upon graduation
