Appication Process for this scholarship

  • Official transcript(s), in English or a certified translation of your academic results to date, showing marks or grades, must be provided at the time students make their applications
  • Proof of English language proficiency
  • Copies of certificates for any degrees or other awards already completed
  • Personal statement (no more than 500 words), including the following-Your personal statement needs to show why you want to study at the University of Essex
  • Clear connections between your most recent study and experience with your chosen Masters courses are essential and you should provide a commentary on reasons for your choice
  • You should also demonstrate how postgraduate study will build on your current level of learning

  • It cannot be held in conjunction with other University of Essex scholarships including the Alumni Loyalty Discount
  • Students must accept their offer of a scholarship award within two weeks of an offer being made
  • If you have been offered a scholarship but request to defer your entry, your scholarship offer will be reconsidered in line with the terms and conditions that apply in the new year of entry

Scholarship Eligibility

  • The award is available to Home (UK), EU and overseas students who are entirely self-funded
  • If applicant’s online application to the Essex MBA is successful, they will be invited to interview as soon as possible and they may receive an offer to study on the course
  • MBA application requirements:-
  • Applicants must hold a degree with an overall grade of between 50 to 55% OR 53 to 58/10 OR 212 to 232/4 depending on the degree institution
  • Apploicants are also expected to have at least three years of relevant, professional work experience, post-graduation
  • Non-standard applicant (which is typically an applicant who possesses an undergraduate degree below a 2:2 standard, or an applicant who does not possess an undergraduate degree at all) are required at least five years of relevant managerial experience
  • They will also be required to write an essay (2000 words) outlining a range of business situations which they have experienced and identifying what they have learnt from them
  • IELTS:- 65 overall with a minimum component score of 60
  • PTE:- 58 overall with minimum component scores of 50
  • Applicants don’t need to have completed GMAT to apply for the Essex MBA but we particularly welcome applicants with a GMAT score of 600 and above
