  • Nomination cover letter Cover from the UA academic unit head or director of graduate studies (one per degree granting program)
  • Nominee written statements:
    • Two to three (2-3) page essay about the adverse circumstances that they have overcome in order to pursue the dream of attaining a masters or doctoral degree at the UA
  • Short summary (no more than 1 page) of why they are interested in pursuing the higher degree
  • One (1) letter of recommendation from a UA faculty advisor (may be same or different from the nominating faculty)

Selection shall be determined by the Dean of the UA Graduate College, based on recommendations of the review committee.

Scholarship Eligibility

To be eligible for consideration of an award, the student must:

  • Be a first or second-year (at time of application) degree-seeking graduate student admitted to a UA degree-granting program
  • Be a master or doctoral level candidate
  • Be domestic or international
  • Be currently in good academic standing within the UA degree-granting program
  • Be nominated by their UA academic unit (one per UA graduate major program only)
