The Swinburne Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarship is a prestigious award to study any Swinburne on-campus degree. The Scholarship is worth $5000 per annum for the normal duration of your chosen degree* plus a one-off payment of $2000 towards an international study experience.

Scholarship amount details

  • The Scholarship is worth $5000 per annum for the normal duration of the chosen degree and includes membership into the High Achievers Program, plus a one-off payment of $2000 towards an international study experience
  • Being part of this program means the student will have access to:
    • an academic mentor to assist in tailoring students’ Swinburne study experience into goals
    • leadership workshops
    • a guaranteed place in a degree-related study tour
    • research or industry projects
    • academic or industry mentoring
    • networking opportunities to share insights with like-minded peers
  • Scholars will also be invited to apply for Swinburne’s Student Ambassador Program; representing Swinburne at key events
  • Accommodation costs are not covered by the scholarship
  • Scholarship payments will be suspended for the duration of Industry Placement, this is because students already receive payment as part of the placement

Scholarship Eligibility

  • Applicants should have a minimum of 85% in year 12
  • Must satisfy the English language proficiency requirement with one of the following:
    • IELTS- Overall 70, with no individual band below 70
    • TOEFL- 94 (no less than 25 in reading, 24 in listening, 23 in speaking, 27 in writing)
    • PTE- Overall 66, with no communicative skill score less than 58
  • Be a Year 12 student and commencing a Swinburne degree in the year after leaving school
  • Achieve a minimum ATAR of 9500
