Scholarship Overview

Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarships is awarded for pursuing Bachelor of Computer Science at Swinburne University of Technology. A student can get a maximum amount of AUD 5000 and the scholarship amount will be given yearly only. The scholarship amount can be used for paying tuition. To be eligible for this scholarship students must have appeared for 12th grade. To be eligible for this award, international students must take English proficiency tests such as TOEFL, IELTS, PTE.

Scholarship amount details

  • The Scholarship is worth $5000 per annum for the normal duration of chosen degree and includes membership into the High Achievers Program, plus a one-off payment of $2000 towards an international study experience
  • Being part of this program means the student will have access to:
    • an academic mentor to assist in tailoring students Swinburne study experience to goals
    • leadership workshops
    • a guaranteed place in a degree-related study tour
    • research or industry projects
    • academic or industry mentoring
    • networking opportunities to share insights with like-minded peers
  • Scholars will also be invited to apply for the Swinburne’s Student Ambassador Program; representing Swinburne at key events
  • Accommodation costs are not covered by the scholarship
  • Scholarship payments will be suspended for the duration of Industry Placement, this is because students already receive payment as part of the placement

Scholarship Eligibility

  • Applicants should have a minimum of 70% in year 12
  • Must satisfy the English language proficiency requirement with one of the following:
    • IELTS – Overall 6.0, with no individual band below 6.0
    • TOEFL – Overall 64 (no less than 13 in reading, 12 in listening, 18 in speaking, 21 in writing)
    • PTE – Overall 50, with no communicative skill score less than 50
  • Be a Year 12 student and commencing a Swinburne degree in the year after leaving school
  • Achieve a minimum ATAR of 9500
  • Prerequisites Required: Mathematics
