Scholarship Overview

The VU Future Leaders Scholarship (International) supports new international students who plan to commence their higher education diploma, undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework) studies in 2021.

All new students commencing a higher education diploma, undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework) course with VU Melbourne are eligible, including students commencing their studies by online real-time (ORT) learning from outside of Australia in 2024 VET courses are not eligible for this scholarship

 

Scholarship amount details

  • Students will get a 30% off tuition fees
  • After two semesters of study, students may be eligible for an extension of this scholarship
  • The extension is valued at 10% of the semester’s tuition fee for the remainder of their studies
  • Students must maintain a 60-course Weighted Average Mark (WAM)
  • Discount will range from A$2,640 – A$5,840

Conversion rate used: 1 AUD = Rs. 54.76 (last updated 7th December 2023).

  • Students who have received a scholarship or sponsorship from another organization are not eligible for this scholarship
  • Students with approval to reduce their study load are eligible to receive a reduced scholarship, based on the number of units taken (pro-rata)
  • New students receiving advanced standing for previous studies are not eligible for the extension of the VU Future Leaders Scholarship (International)
  • The VU Future Leaders Scholarship (International) is not refundable, convertible to cash, or transferable to another individual, commencing study period, or course
  • The VU Future Leaders Scholarship (International) is awarded at the discretion of the University
  • The student will continue to remain eligible to receive the VU Future Leaders Scholarship (International) and the extension of the scholarship providing the student pays all tuition and additional fees/costs in full by the census date each study period and meets the conditions of their student visa
  • The University’s decision concerning the assessment of eligibility for the Scholarship is final, and there is no right of appeal should the student be unsuccessful in securing the scholarship, or has the scholarship withdrawn

Scholarship Eligibility

  • Applicant must have passed class 12th with:
    • 60% (in 4 subjects) from ICSE Board OR;
    • 60% (in 4 subjects) from All India Senior School Certificate
    • 65% (in 4 subjects) from State Board (various) examinations OR
    • Completion of an Australian Advanced Diploma or Diploma (or equivalent)
  • English Language Proficiency scores:
    • IELTS: With a minimum score of 50 in each band
    • TOEFL: With a minimum score in Listening 9, Speaking 16, Reading 10, Writing 18
    • PTE: With a minimum score of 40 in each band
  • Applicants enrolling in the following programs need to have the following IELTS score:
    • Diploma of Education Studies – with an overall score of 65 and 60 in each band
    • Diploma of Nursing – with an overall score of 70 and 70 in each band
