About Bishop Grosseteste University (BGU)

Bishop Grosseteste University (BGU) has been in the heart of Lincoln for over 150 years. It has a beautiful green and pleasant campus just a few minutes walk from Lincoln Cathedral, Castle, and the old Roman city.

Bishop University campus

The university has a beautiful campus. Bishops University put efforts into building and reimagining many aspects of the campus in recent years to ensure that students’ time with the university is as stimulating, relaxing, and rewarding as possible.

Some of the structures date back to the 1840s and are still in use today. Bishops complement these beautiful Victorian structures with brand-new teaching and learning spaces, creating an enticing mix of old and new, intimate, and expansive. The new state-of-the-art teaching rooms and the modern library provides the students with the best facilities possible during their time here.

The university manages to pack a lot into the campus to keep you busy, with places to eat, drink, relax, meet friends, socialize, and exercise!

University accommodation

The Accommodation Team strives to make the transition from home to higher education as smooth as possible. If you are an international student, you must live close to campus to comply with your visa.

Wickham Hall

The hall has 126 rooms in contemporary en-suite cluster flats. Each flat has six private en-suite study bedrooms and a communal kitchen and living area. Rooms include three electrical outlets, a TV aerial point, a built-in wardrobe and drawers, and a desk with a chair. It also has a double bed with underneath storage. The kitchen and living areas have a microwave, cooker, refrigerator, freezer, dining table, sofas, and television. The facilities also include wi-fi, 24-hour security, and internet access.

Constance Stewart Hall

Each room has a washbasin, wardrobe, shelving, desk with chair and easy chair, two electric outlets, and bed with underneath storage. For disabled students, the ground floor includes a fully accessible study bedroom and accessible bathroom facilities. Each floor has communal kitchens with living areas that have a microwave, cooker, fridge, freezer, and communal seating.

Longdales Lodge 

It is a purpose-built accommodation block just a 5-minute walk from the BGU campus. The structure contains 38 en-suite rooms divided into 6 suites. All rooms have access to a shared living space, laundry facilities, and bicycle storage.
