Founded in 1911, Connecticut College’s history began a few years earlier. It started when one of the state’s men’s institutions, which recently began opening its doors to women, abruptly closed them. More women than ever before were pursuing higher education and demanding the right to vote at the time. Instead of providing a list of course requirements, Learn More About Connections, the college’s comprehensive four-year approach, integrates everything a student does including their classes, their major, their study abroad, and their internship—into habits of mind that are useful for the rest of their life.

Students will put everything they’ve learned to work in an internship the summer before their senior year. Conn guarantees $3,000 in funding for every qualifying internship, hence students can afford to choose one that fully reflects their newly broadened sense of possibility.
