Fordham University | From the city to the world
Fordham University is a Catholic Jesuit university. Its spirit stems from the Jesuits’ nearly 500-year history. The university works with the spirit of wholehearted engagement—with profound ideas, communities all over the world, injustice, beauty, and the entirety of the human experience.
This is what distinguishes Fordham
New York City is a close-knit community that values and educates the whole person. Much of Fordham’s Jesuit history and mission can be boiled down to three concepts, which roughly translate as follows-
- Strive for excellence in all you do.
- Consider others.
- Strive for justice.
It all adds up to an effective education.
Wisdom, experience, morality, critical thinking, and problem-solving creativity. This is what Fordham students bring with them into the world.
