About the Zonta International Organization

Zonta International offers the Jane M Klausman Women in Business Scholarship. It is a global professional organization that empowers women through service and advocacy. They want to promote gender equality, put an end to gender-based violence, end child marriage, and increase access to education. Jane M Klausman established this award in 1998 to assist women worldwide in overcoming gender obstacles in the business world, from school to boardroom.

Zonta International organizes itself into 32 districts and further divides them into areas for effective administration. Each area is made up of Zonta clubs that serve to carry out the organization’s mission and vision.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must meet the following criteria-

• This program is solely available to women. Women of any age are welcome to apply.
• A business degree from an approved university or college, or institute is required. Accounting, human resources management, economics, finance, business management, marketing, operations management, international business, or entrepreneurship are examples of appropriate business programs.
• Students who have demonstrated exceptional promise in their study area and who live or study in a Zonta region are eligible.
• At the time of application, students must enroll in at least the second year of an undergraduate program or the last year of a master’s program.
• When the scholarship money is distributed, students must be enrolled in school and scheduled to graduate in December of that educational year.
• You may also apply if you are an online student from a recognized university or college, or institute.
• Members of the Golden Z Club (a Zonta International-sponsored club) are eligible to apply.
• If you did not receive a scholarship this year, you can reapply for it next year. However, the second application will not receive priority treatment.

Grant parameters

To this day, Zonta International has awarded 713 scholarships, totaling to more than $1.8 million of funds, to 559 women recipients from 70 countries. Contributions from Zontians, Zonta clubs, and friends of Zonta, as well as investment income from the Klausman bequest, fund the scholarships.

The majority of recipients in 2023 will be Americans, but there will also be recipients from Canada, the United States, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Ghana, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, France, United Kingdom, Finland, Macedonia, Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand.

Document requirements

You must send the following documents along with the completed Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship application form. All documents that are not in English should be translated before submission.

• 2 LORs (one from a faculty member of your major field of study and one from an employer, volunteer supervisor, or academic adviser)
• A 500-word essay explaining your academic and professional ambitions. It should also mention the scholarship’s relevance to your field of study and how it will help you attain your goals.
•  The registrar of the university, college, or institute must sign the Zonta International verification of the current enrollment form. Note that the scholarship committee does not accept university admission letters as proof of enrollment.
• Transcripts of academic grades from all universities or colleges or institutions attended.
• Submit the most recent academic grade report.

Application procedure

Applicants must apply online using the official website. All application documents must be sent to a local Zonta Club before the deadline. The Club Locator on the official Zonta International website can help you find a club near you. You are not permitted to apply to more than one Zonta district.

Applicants who reside in geographical locations within a Zonta district/region where no clubs exist are eligible to apply for district/region and worldwide awards. You can send your application via email or postal mail. You have the option to send your application either via email or postal mail. The scholarship committee recommends submitting your application through email. Applicants must sign the applications and send them in PDF format.
