Tyndale University, a Christian institute in Toronto, offers a variety of undergraduate, seminary, and graduate programs. Tyndale alumni have achieved success in the private, public, and non-profit sectors, with a history of over 125 years.

Throughout its history, Tyndale has gone through several iterations and name changes. Tyndale started its journey with humble beginnings in 1894 in the Toronto area as a Bible Training School with 138 students from eight different denominations. Tyndale has never strayed from its core values since then.

Located in Toronto, Ontario, Tyndale University is a private multi-denominational evangelical Christian university. Founded as The Toronto Bible Training School by members of the world missionary movement, the university houses Canada’s largest graduate school of theology. The university also offers master’s and doctoral degrees. Tyndale’s Postgraduate courses are extremely adaptable, with programs available online as well as in modular, one-week intensive, daytime and evening formats.

Doctor of Ministry, Master of Divinity, Master of Theological Studies, Master of Theology, and a variety of graduate diploma programs are among the degrees available at Tyndale. There are also an increasing number of undergraduate programs in a variety of academic disciplines, such as philosophy, business, linguistics, and music. The college community is made up of 60 different ethnic groups and 40 different Christian denominations.

Tyndale provides a distinct undergraduate Christian university experience in which students learn to think analytically and respond to current issues. Bachelor’s and honors degrees in Arts (BA), Religious Education (BRE), a Certificate in Christian Studies, and a post-undergraduate Bachelor’s degree in Education  (BEd) are available at the university.  Graduates of these programs are prepared for dynamic careers, professional programs, graduate programs at other universities, and challenges in life.

Tyndale Seminary, which has a long history of innovation and creativity, prepares students to lead and live from the core of a vibrant Christian faith in a postmodern, pluralistic, and multicultural society. Graduate degrees at the seminary provide a solid theological foundation and one of the most diverse specializations in theological education.

Tyndale students develop the skills needed to examine their beliefs, work through issues, and engage in the culture with the gospel through academic rigor, practical application, and dialogue. Seminary courses are designed to be adaptable. Students can complete the programs online, in modules, in one-week intensives, or in traditional daytime and evening formats. Doctor of Ministry (DMin), Master of Divinity (MDiv), Master of Theological Studies (MTS), Master of Theology (ThM), and Graduate Diploma programs are available at Tyndale Seminary.

Campus

Tyndale University College & Seminary is a Christian university in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Tyndale is a suburb of North York, which is one of Toronto’s safest neighborhoods. It is located near the intersection of Steeles and Bayview avenues on the city’s north end.

Tyndale’s 32 acres of green space provide students with an opportunity to walk, read, or relax in nature. They can also compete against their friends in a round of disc golf. Tyndale strives to provide a variety of extracurricular activities for students. There are numerous ways to spend your free time on campus.

Intramural sports, a variety of games in the gym, The Henderson Center gym, the female-only workout space in residence, and club sports are all options for exercise. Activities include pool, table tennis, and foosball, as well as student-led clubs, UC Council events, and various other events are all available on campus.

Hangouts are available at residence lounges, the coffee shop, and various soft seating areas throughout campus. Vending machines that accept debit payments are located throughout campus.

Courses

Tyndale offers graduate, undergraduate, seminary, and special programs in various fields. Tyndale University’s renowned Bachelor of Education program lasts 16 months. During three separate practicum placements in Ontario schools, candidates have the opportunity to apply what they have learned. Tyndale University provides Master of Arts (MA) programs that are designed to meet the needs of students and future employers in a changing world.
