Huron University College | A brief overview
Huron is Western University’s founding institution. Huron provides an elite, yet accessible university experience for over 155 years, building on its legacy of industry-leading alumni. Huron’s partnership with Western provides students full access to Western University facilities, clubs, and athletics programs. Huron students earn a Western degree with a Huron distinction while receiving one-on-one mentoring that only Huron’s large faculty-to-student ratio can provide.

It is the heart and hub of campus life, with a 450-seat theatre for performance and civic engagement. It also includes a Student Activity Centre, Welcome Centre, and various cutting-edge learning environments.

There was a change in Huron’s location to its current location in 1951, just steps from the University of Western Ontario.
Huron lies on the western side of Western Road, directly across from the main campus of the University of Western Ontario. The University Community Centre (UCC) and the Weldon Library are also nearby.
The Silcox Memorial Library, the Great Hall, and the Chapel of St. John the Evangelist are all located in the Administrative Wing. Jago Courtyard and classrooms lie in the Valley Wing. The Huron dining hall is just a short walk from the Western campus. Classroom W12 is for many first-year courses and larger lectures, one of Huron’s largest classrooms with 120 seats. The Kingsmill Room, in Huron’s main building, is for Larger events, such as convocations and guest lectures.
Courses
Huron University College offers undergraduate programs in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences as well as graduate programs in the Faculty of Theology. Huron is expanding its integration of character-building and civic responsibility into programs that offer the traditional benefits of the liberal arts to produce globally-minded citizens.
This means that students receive a well-rounded education that prepares them for the unpredictable landscape of today’s marketplace.
