Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore) is a young and research-intensive university with 33,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students studying engineering, business, science, humanities, arts, social sciences, education, and medicine.

Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is a Singaporean national research university. It is the country’s second-oldest autonomous university and, according to various international metrics, one of the most prestigious universities in the world. It frequently ranks among the top 20 universities in the world.
According to the 2023 QS World University Rankings, NTU has 19th rank in the world and has been the first globally ranked university among young universities by the QS World University Rankings since 2015.
NTU was also the top university in the world for artificial intelligence citations (Nikkei and Elsevier 2017) from 2012 to 2016 and is embracing digital technologies for better learning and living as part of its Smart Campus vision. The university has collaborations with the world’s leading technology companies, including Alibaba, Rolls-Royce, BMW, Volvo, Delta Electronics, and Singtel, in areas of societal importance and impact, such as artificial intelligence, data science, robotics, smart transportation, computing, personalized medicine, healthcare, and clean energy.
The College of Engineering, College of Science, Nanyang Business School, Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, Graduate College, National Institute of Education, and S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies are among the colleges and schools within the university. NTU also houses several Research Centres of Excellence, including the Earth Observatory of Singapore and the Singapore Centre on Environmental Life Sciences Engineering. NTU’s main campus is Singapore’s largest university campus spanning 200 hectares (490 acres).
NTU has 57 Green Mark-certified (LEED-certified) building projects totaling more than 230 structures, 95% of which are certified Green Mark Platinum. The primary campus grounds are on 50 Nanyang Avenue in Singapore’s western region. It has two additional campuses in Singapore’s healthcare and start-up districts, Novena, and one-north. As of 2021, it has a comprehensive and large university with 34,384 enrolled students and 7,613 faculty and staff. NTU also has a medical campus in Singapore’s healthcare district, Novena.
Campus
In Singapore, Nanyang Technological University has two campuses. The main campus is a 200-acre residential garden campus in Yunnan Garden. The other campus is Novena, Singapore’s Medical District, home to many researchers and laboratories. Nanyang Technological University was one of the World’s Most Beautiful Universities and ranked 10th on the QS World’s Most Photogenic Universities list. Various facilities, such as on-campus housing, transportation, sports and recreation, cafes, and so on, allow students to interact and form positive social connections.
Yunnan Garden campus
Nanyang Technological University’s main campus is the 200-hectare (2.0 km2; 0.77 sq mi) Yunnan Garden Campus, which is adjacent to the Jurong West township.
It is Singapore’s largest university campus, with the largest on-campus residence infrastructure, including 24 undergraduate halls of residence and two graduate halls.
The Singapore Hokkien Association originally donated the campus grounds to Nanyang University. The Nanyang University campus was given to the Nanyang Technological Institute, a newly formed English-medium engineering college, in 1981. The grounds were then presented to the university following the formation of the NTU through the merger of NTI and the National Institute of Education (NIE).
Novena campus
Novena is a third campus in downtown Novena near LKCMedicine’s partner teaching hospital, Tan Tock Seng Hospital. The year 201 saw the establishment of the new 20-story Clinical Sciences Building. The CSB houses LKCMedicine researchers, with laboratories linked by collaborative spaces.
