Ambassador Dimitrios Ioannou expressed his intention to bring AICTE collaborative aspirations to the attention of the Greek Ministry of Education.
The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has begun discussions with Greece for potential collaboration to boost international educational cooperation. Recently, a meeting took place in the capital city where both T G Sitharam, the AICTE chairman, and Dimitrios Ioannou, the Greek Ambassador, deliberated on strategies to enhance cooperation in joint research, training, and other academic ventures between universities of the two countries.
Also present at the dialogue were Alexandros Boudouris, the Deputy Chief of Mission, and Ismini Panagopoulou, the First Counsellor for Political and Cultural Affairs.
Strengthening Indo-Greek educational ties
Ambassador Ioannou, following the talks, pledged to convey AICTE’s keenness for collaboration to Greece’s Education Ministry. Furthermore, Ms. Ismini Panagopoulou has agreed to act as a bridge between AICTE and the corresponding Greek departments to foster educational partnerships.
Introducing ‘YOL’: A new dimension to learning
In addition to the core discussion, Yogi Kochhar, a champion of happiness, unveiled the ‘YOL’ scholarship initiative for educational institutions that integrate happiness-centric programs into their framework.
AICTE’s vision for global collaboration
Prof T G Sitharam, speaking about the budding partnership, remarked, “At AICTE, Chandrayaan-3 has inspired us to journey towards realizing the concept of ‘Vasudev Kutumbakam.’ Acknowledging both the hurdles and prospects presented by globalization, we see international collaborations as pivotal in crafting the destiny of our educational entities and the country as a whole.”
A new chapter in Indo-Greek educational endeavors
The Hellenic Indian Chamber of Commerce and Economy orchestrated the meeting, signaling the initiation of a collaborative relationship between AICTE and Greece in academia. Both parties are dedicated to amalgamating their strengths for the enrichment of students, scholars, and academic institutions in their respective countries.
