Tiffin University | A brief overview
Established in 1888, Tiffin University is a private institution with a total undergraduate enrollment of 2,194 students (fall 2020). It has a rural setting and a campus size of 135 acres. The academic calendar of TU is semester-based. Tiffin University ranked #127-166 in Regional Universities Midwest in the Best Colleges 2022-2023 edition. The tuition and other expenses total is $28,480.
TU has accreditation from The Higher Learning Commission. Undergraduate and graduate degree programs are available at the university’s main campus in Tiffin, Ohio. The University of Bucharest in Romania, and several locations in Ohio, including Cleveland, Toledo, and Fremont also teach these programs. Students can also access these programs online.
The institute is famous throughout the United States for its excellent academic programs, experienced faculty, and peaceful learning environment. For 30 years, known as the Commercial College, Tiffin University was affiliated with Heidelberg College. During those years, TU popularly taught business courses. After splitting from Heidelberg College, the institute established a four-year curriculum for its graduate programs and expanded itself.
Campus
Tiffin, Ohio, is the location of the main campus of the university. The sprawling 135-acre campus has 284 full-time staff members and 3013 students enrolled in undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degree programs. The institute is divided into three academic departments- the School of Arts and Sciences, the School of Criminal Justice and Social Sciences, and the School of Business. The campus features modern classrooms, auditoriums, playgrounds, labs, computer centers,
and the famous Richard C. Pfeiffer Library, which houses a vast collection of books and journals.
The institute provides extended learning programs similar to those available at other regional campuses. Owens Community College, Toledo campus offers programs such as the Bachelor of Business Administration in Management with a concentration in Managerial Studies and the Bachelor of Criminal Justice with a concentration in Justice Administration. Terra State Community College in Fremont, Ohio, offers the same courses. The university also provides online courses for students. The MBA program is available at the Bucharest campus in Romania along with other campuses.
The Ohio Department of Higher Education and the Higher Learning Commission both accredit the university’s online and regular courses. Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) has accredited the School of Business at the institute. The European Council for Business Education has also accredited BBA and MBA programs.
The Professional Development Workshop is open to students. Individual career counseling, resume and cover letter writing, mock interviews, alumni panel sessions, job success sessions, job fairs and internship fairs, networking sessions, industrial excursions, and organizing seminars on best business practices and professional behavior are among the other services provided by the department.
Courses
Tiffin University offers programs in more than 50 undergraduate and 25 graduate disciplines. It also offers MBA, Master of Science, Master of Education, and Master of Humanities degrees at the postgraduate level. A doctorate in Global Leadership and Change is also available.
The European Council for Business Education has also accredited BBA and MBA programs. Career Services assists students in preparing for jobs and developing employability skills. The Professional Development Workshop is open to all students. Students can participate in a college work-study program at the university. The university offers part-time employment opportunities to students through this program in order to earn money while attending university.
