Top 10 highest paying jobs in 2019

In this article, we have evaluated the top highest paying jobs in 2019.

1) Surgeon

Specializing in the field of surgery is a challenging, gratifying, and monumental venture. However, this demanding job certainly pays off. In the United States, a general surgeon can earn around $325,000 per year. Similarly, Canadian general surgeons make around $310,000 a year. In Europe, general surgeons aren’t paid as much and get approximately $99,697 in the United Kingdom. Of course, if you manage to specialize in a certain field of surgery, the prospect of earning more money is high.

2) Dentist

Dentistry is the second profession on this list of highest paying jobs as they make around $165,000 annually in the United States. In the UK, they earn $93,466 on an average. Furthermore, Canadian dentists can expect to earn as much as $120,792 a year. Therefore, while dental school is expensive,  it is one of the degrees that make the most money.

3) Engineering manager

Engineering managers are responsible for the management, supervision, and development of a multitude of organization projects. Choosing a STEM field like this one in college can increase your chances of landing a high-paying job. Engineering managers earn $125,000 in the US, $85,309 in Canada and $66,049 in the UK. Some Canadian engineering managers make more than $190,000 per annum.

4) IT systems manager

As we flourish in the golden age of technology,  it’s no wonder that IT system managers have excellent prospects for making big bucks. In the US, IT system managers can expect to earn $90,000, whereas Canadian IT managers make up to $67,191 every year. In the UK, their salaries run at an average of $53,587.

5) Corporate lawyer


The profession of corporate law is one of the top careers that pay well and primarily deal with counseling clients and handling various business transactions. As a successful corporate lawyer, you can get as much as $130,000 in the US. However, corporate lawyers in Canada earn a relatively lower salary and get $ 93, 614 USD a year. In the UK, corporate lawyers make $92,593.

6) Marketing manager

In the USA, the median salary is $70,000, $45,486 in the UK, and $52,846 Canada.

In Canada, data scientists can get around $62,812.

9) Software engineer

According to LinkedIn insights, investment bankers in the USA earn about $85,000 a year. On the other hand, investment bankers in the UK and Canada make up to $62,310 and $64,171, respectively.     1. Hey Vikram! To become an airline captain, you need to preferably have a bachelors degree(It doesn’t have to be an aviation-related degree). After that, you need to undergo training to get the Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate from a certified Aviation academy. Hope the answer helps!
