The University of Sheffield, UK, is set to introduce 125 International Postgraduate (PG) Taught Merit Scholarships for the academic year 2024. Valued at UK Pound 5,000 each, these scholarships will significantly reduce the initial tuition fees for selected postgraduate programmes commencing in September 2024.
Scholarship eligibility and criteria at University of Sheffield
Eligibility for these scholarships is quite specific. It encompasses all fresh international students who meets the set criteria. Importantly, the University of Sheffield will gonna consider only those candidates who start their programmes in autumn 2024 and have secured an offer to study entirely at the university. However, students enrolled in master’s programmes shared between the University of Sheffield and another institution will not qualify for this financial support.
Moreover, the university does not extend scholarships to students taking distance learning modules, crossways courses, or Erasmus Mundus courses. The University also states that to qualify, students must fund themselves, be responsible for the overseas tuition fee, and not have sponsors.
Scholarship application process
The scholarship registration will officially commence in late autumn 2023, and students can submit their applications until 1 PM (UK time) on May 13, 2024. The University has scheduled the announcement of scholarship recipients for June 10, 2024.
