Vanderbilt University – equal opportunity and affirmative action
Established in 1873, the mission of Vanderbilt University was to “strengthen the ties which should exist between all regions of our common country.” Since then, it has built a reputation for academic accomplishment and a distinctive culture of teamwork and collegiality. By pushing the bounds of what is supposed to be possible, extending the borders of what is known to be feasible, and devoting their all to assisting others, their goal is to bring out the best in people. The modest, park-like Vanderbilt campus, nestled in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee’s quickly growing city, serves as a symbol of one Vanderbilt community.
According to the Academic Ranking of World Universities, Vanderbilt is the 68th-best university in the United States and the 98th-best university in the world, according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. It is the tenth most innovative university in the world, according to Reuters.
