About Thammasat University
Thammasat University (TU) is Thailand’s second oldest and most prestigious comprehensive university, inaugurated in 1934 with a focus on social science and humanities to satisfy society’s thirst for modern knowledge. Many popularly call Thammasat ‘the people’s university.’

1. Sustainable university
The university dedicates itself to a better environment. In such an initiative, it has created a pedestrian and bike-friendly community by encouraging students to use bicycles as their primary mode of transportation. It is also constructing bicycle lanes connecting the buildings/lecture halls throughout the campus. Rangsit Campus also addresses waste disposal, a significant task for a large community, and promotes waste separation through its model Reduce/Reuse/Recycle center.
2. Equipped lecture rooms
Thammasat University Rangsit Campus features a 3,000-seat lecture hall and over 1,000 classrooms of varying sizes. It has complete furnishing in every room. In foundation courses such as TU100 Civic Education and TU120 Integrated Social Sciences, first-year students typically study alongside students from all faculties like Law, Business School, and more. They hold these classes in the Social Complex Building, also known as the ‘SC Building,’ which houses shops, a 7-Eleven, computer rooms with hundreds of computers, free printing, a photocopying service, and a first-aid room.
Many social science faculties are in the SC Building, including the Faculties of Law, Political Science, Commerce and Accountancy, Social Administration, Journalism, Mass Communication, Fine and Applied Arts, and Economics.
3. Sports stadiums
The Sports Stadium includes an ASEAN-Games standard football stadium (Thammasat Rangsit Stadium) with a capacity for sports competition (football, athletics, and outdoor sports), 9-lane resin running tracks, a high-quality lighting system, and a 25,000-seat amphitheater. It serves as a venue for professional football matches, which TU students are welcome to attend for free. Every day they hold an aerobics class in front of the stadium in the King of Naga Courtyard.
4. National Convention Park
Thammasat Convention Park (TUC park), or Thammasat Rangsit Convention Center, is on Phaholyothin Road, on the outskirts of Thammasat University Rangsit. Its green environment, dubbed “Convention Park,” can accommodate a variety of functions, including, concerts, wedding receptions, seminars, exhibitions, and sporting events. TUC park can now serve as a testing facility for all.
Students at the university have access to world-class facilities. They can relax, take a stroll, and even study at their own will.
In front of the convention center, there is a message board that says ‘Thammasat for People,’ which new graduates like to use as a backdrop for their photos. There is also a new photo landmark that visitors to TU Rangsit must see.
5. Clubs and societies
Thammasat University encourages students to participate in activities and learn about life to enrich themselves instead of just being part f classroom discussions. There are over 150 clubs and societies, including the TU Chorus, Recreational Creative Association, TU Folksong Club, Khon Thammasat Society, Cheer and Card Stunt Club, Thai music club, TU Symphony Orchestra, TU Band, and speech and debate club. Students can participate in these clubs and societies during the first semester of each academic year.
