How I got into Cardiff, UCL, and other UK universities | Student success story of Jasran Mohommed

The United Kingdom is a popular destination for international students, and it’s easy to see why. From world-famous universities to vibrant cities, the UK has a lot to offer. One of the UK’s main attraction is the opportunity to study at some of the best universities in the world, like Oxford, Cambridge, and Imperial College London, among other respected schools. Jasran Mohommed, a final-year architecture student, has received acceptance letters from some such universities. Let’s dive into his success story!

Jasran’s reason for choosing the UK was to explore. He said that while his initial choice was to study in Canada, he saw that the UK offers a wide range of scholarships, alongside the opportunity to explore European countries. He says, “Since European countries are close to each other, I can travel during the holidays and explore them.”

Jasran’s journey forward with iSchoolConnect

Jasran always knew he wanted to study abroad for his master’s due to the difference in the work culture and even the education system. He stated that even though the UK and Indian education systems are pretty similar, they’re still different and that the UK has one of the best education systems in the world.

Jasran also mentions that while pursuing his master’s, he wants to intern in the UK for a while to experience the work culture and see how clients and projects are handled there.

During his application process, he recollects assembling the documents as being the most hectic task. He said students should start collecting documents at least a year in advance to avoid last-minute hassles. Jasran started his application process 6 months before-hand and said it took him 3 months to gether the documents.

However, he mentions that his success story was incomplete without his mentors and counselors at iSchoolConnect! After collecting all documents, he just had to give them to his counselors, who processed them. He could concentrate on his studies without worrying about what would come next!

Future plans and advice

After completing his master’s degree, Jasran plans to intern at a UK-based company to experience the country’s work environment and culture. After that, he plans on coming back to India to be close to his parents. 

For Jasran, the best tip for students is to research. Whether it be about finances or part-time jobs, travel or accommodation, students need to research well before deciding.
