After making its debut in the rankings in 2016, Middlesex has improved its standing there over the past three years.
Northumbria, the only other UK institution in the top 100 for 2019, is ranked 97th, and Brighton & Sussex Medical School, a collaboration between two academic institutions and the NHS, was ranked 36th. The accolades prove the University’s ongoing success in promoting a supportive and collaborative research culture.
Middlesex Business School has launched a variety of targeted strategic initiatives. This includes seed funding to facilitate high-impact research and knowledge transfer projects, support to develop new research groupings across the University, and more, at the initiative of Middlesex Professor of International Management Anne-Wil Harzing, Director of Research Professor Stephen Syrett, Executive Dean Anna Kyprianou, and others. Since the list’s expansion to 800 universities in 2016 and Middlesex’s placement in the 600-800 band, the university has steadily advanced in the overall Times Higher World University Rankings, moving from the 600-800 band to the low 400s.
Middlesex has moved up 16 spots in the Complete University Guide rankings and three spots in the Guardian University Guide rankings in the most current UK university league tables, partly because of persistent efforts over the last two years to increase student retention and employability.
