The government of Kerala has unveiled an exciting opportunity to benefit over 300 students annually from scheduled categories, granting them the chance to pursue their studies abroad. The Unnathi Scholarship for Overseas Studies, established in partnership with ODEPC (Overseas Development and Employment Promotion Consultants Ltd.), represents this initiative.

Minister K Radhakrishnan inaugurated this noteworthy project, marking a significant step towards empowering deserving students. Under this scheme, selected students will have the privilege to study at some of the world’s top 500 universities. In its inaugural year, the scheme granted 310 students this life-changing opportunity.

Expansion to Nursing opportunities in Germany
In addition to the Unnathi Scholarship, Minister Radhakrishnan also announced an upcoming initiative to send SC/ST students to pursue nursing studies in Germany. Acknowledging the surging demand for qualified nurses abroad, the government is exploring the possibility of offering loans up to Rs 35 lakhs to cover tuition fees. Consequently, the government has strategically designed this initiative to foster international opportunities for these students. Upon completing their nursing education, students can secure nursing positions in Germany with the potential for annual incomes of up to Rs 55 lakhs, paving the way for a prosperous career path.
