Cleveland State University is a public research institution in Cleveland, Ohio (CSU). After entirely merging the private institution Fenn College, which had been in operation since 1923, it was established in 1964 and officially started operating in 1965. CSU gained control of Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 1969. It has over 120,000 alumni, is a University System of Ohio member, and offers over 200 academic programs. It is a member of the group of institutions known as ‘R2: Doctoral Universities – High Research Activity.”
