The University of New Haven is a prestigious private, coeducational higher education institution that has high regard by US News & World Report. The University of New Haven (UNH), founded in 1920, is in a suburban setting on an 82-acre campus. The university has a semester-based academic calendar and is a member of the NCAA Division II and the Northeast 10 Conference. CLE (The Complete Learning Experience)

Departments in the Division of Students Affairs work to provide students with opportunities to develop the skills and competencies that employers say they want in college graduates. The following skills will be identified, demonstrated, and articulated by students-

Greek Life

The mission of Greek Life at the University of New Haven is to enhance the personal development of its members through involvement in social Greek-letter fraternities and sororities. Greek Life fosters a community founded on academic and personal achievement, culture, friendship, history, and tradition

Personal development, community engagement, brotherhood/sisterhood, scholarship, and lifelong involvement are all core values of Greek Life. They commit to strengthening the membership through personal growth, scholarship, and service following the values and standards. It binds you to its respective organizations, the Greek community, and the university. Greek clubs are as follows-

• Kappa Kappa Psi (KKPsi)

The American Marketing Association

The mission of the University of New Haven AMA chapter is to provide members with hands-on marketing experience and to broaden their knowledge outside of the classroom through events, speakers, conferences, and competitions. They welcome all undergraduate and graduate majors (who are not employed full-time) and aim to provide support, community service, and a well-rounded education.

5678 Dance Team

The 5-6-7-8 Dance Team will encourage UNH students to join a diverse dance team. It will encourage the members to engage in some form of exercise and fitness. They will allow members to share their dancing experiences and talents with the rest of the team. They will use their dance abilities to positively perform and participate in community events.

Their goal is to provide the university with a dance team that performs at least one (1) annual performance collection. The majority of the pieces in that show will showcase the team’s and its dancers’ diverse dance genres and choreography styles.

Anime Club

The main goal of the Anime Club is to provide a welcoming environment on campus for both new and devoted fans of all genres to discuss and enjoy anime! Meetings are held in person on Wednesdays and online on Thursdays from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. You can join whenever you want! They also have a Discord server.

Asian American Student Union

It dedicates to strengthening the Asian American community on campus by sharing different backgrounds and heritage of Asian origin with the rest of the student population in the hopes of raising cultural awareness.

Active Minds

Active Minds is one of the few organizations on college campuses working to ‘Change the Conversation About Mental Illness’ by giving students a voice. According to the national affiliation ‘Active Minds,’ this chapter at the University of New Haven is one of many across the country. With the assistance of their Counseling and Psychological Services, they created this chapter, which is a student-run mental health awareness, education, and advocacy group on campus. 

Career Development Center

It is a one-stop shop for all career and professional development needs. They can assist you with your resume and cover letter, and provide job and internship search strategies. The Career Development Center can also connect you with employers, alumn, and opportunities throughout the state, region, and country, and provide tips and advice on how to be your most professional, confident, and successful self!
