UC Berkeley admissions are very selective, with an acceptance rate of 18%. However, the percentage of applications significantly increased for the academic year 2021-2022.

As a result, the admission rate dropped to 14.8% of the applicant pool for Fall 2021, leading to admitting only 15 for every 100 applicants to courses at UC Berkeley. The statistic also includes students from the waitlist.

Additionally, there was an 8.7% increase in transfer student applications, resulting in 22,200 applicants in 2021. As a result, the university offered seats to 22% of transfer students after completing the admission process.
