Gannon University’s application fee and process of application
Step 1
Complete and submit your admissions application.
Students can submit their admission application using one of the following methods-
- Gannon’s online application
- The Common Application (freshmen)
- Print a Freshman Application
- The Common Application (transfers)
- Print a Transfer Application
- Print an Application for Re-Admission
Step 2
Use the Gannon Net Price Calculator to calculate Gannon University’s application fee.
To receive an estimate of financial aid, students can use the Gannon Net Price Calculator. The Net Price Calculator at Gannon University assists families in budgeting for educational expenses. The calculator will use Federal Methodology to estimate an expected family contribution in addition to merit scholarships and grants (EFC). The EFC will help in determining eligibility for need-based financial aid from the federal, state, and institutional governments. The result of this process will be a comprehensive package of merit, need, and self-help resources that you can use as a financial planning tool.
Step 3
Request your high school transcripts
Students can print the Student Transcript Request form and request their high school transcripts using this form.
Step 4
Submit your SAT/ACT scores.
Students need not send these scores to Gannon University separately if they are already on their high school transcript. If a student requests to send their SAT/ACT scores to Gannon at the time they took the exam, then Gannon will receive them electronically. If students request to send their official scores to Gannon, the College Board and ACT will also send those scores to Gannon electronically.
Students applying to Gannon as first-year or transfer students for the Fall 2022, Spring 2023, Fall 2023, and Spring 2024 semesters can get the SAT/ACT requirement waiver for most of the university’s academic programs. Some academic programs will still require the submission of SAT/ACT scores because they have an affiliation with another college, university, or professional school that asks for these scores(for example, LECOM Medical/Pharmacy/Dental, Case Western Dental, Duquesne School of Law, and so on).
While test scores will not determine admission decision, the university encourages students who have them to submit them so that the university can consider them for additional scholarship funds. Gannon’s scholarship model allows offering merit awards without test scores, but test scores may increase the value of the merit award in some cases.
Step 5
Send in your statement and letters of recommendation.
A Personal Statement, in addition to test scores and high school transcripts, assists the Admissions Committee in determining a student’s eligibility for admission. Submitting a statement is optional, but the university strongly advises it. Gannon also requires it for LECOM 4+4 Medical Program applicants. Applicants who apply online should send their statements to the university’s official admissions portal.
You should type the Personal statements one page in length and should address one of the following topics-
1. Describe how you have applied a classroom lesson in your daily life.
or
2. Ask and respond to one question you wish the university had asked.
Students who apply to Gannon for a health professions program must submit at least one letter of recommendation from a high school science teacher. The university appreciates receiving other recommendation letters but they are not mandatory.
Step 6
Applicant evaluation transfer
Students must print and submit a hard copy of the Transfer Recommendation Form for each school they attend if they are about to transfer.
