      Hey Devki!

MBBS in Canada is a 3-year full-time course, which is a 3-4 year MD (Doctor of Medicine) program. Even though it is an undergraduate program, overseas students must have a bachelor’s to secure admission to the MD program. In case a student with a non-science background wants to apply to medical schools, the course will take five years to complete. This is because students need to study for the first year to bridge the educational gap.

I am facing a problem in trying to identify if I have enough education background for applying to MS programs in US and Canada.
I have the following education certificates:

Bachelors in Science (Mathematics) from Delhi University, Delhi, India. 3-year program Postgraduate program in Business Analytics from Praxis Business School, Kolkata, India. 1-year program

Would the above education background be sufficient enough to apply for MS programs?

      Hey Yogesh!

First and foremost, you’ve got a really good score but then you need to be specific with your score breakdown as an MS in CS would require almost a perfect score on your quantitative section.

      Schools use the holistic process in admitting students, your GPA, SOP, RESUME, and LORs. All these make up your profile. As regards the good schools you could try, I recommend;

      Georgia Institute of Technology
Texas A and M College Station
      University of Florida
The University of Waterloo in Canada

      Hey Robert!

Although the eligibility criteria vary from college to college; here are a few things you need to keep in mind while pursuing a master’s in commerce –

Students must have a BCom degree from a recognized university/college.
In addition to this, students must be passed the entrance examination if the college has one.
The minimum percentage should be according to the chosen university.
Additionally, some institutes require students to have job experience.

      Hey Myra!

There are three important factors to consider when you’re choosing a recommender-

How long you have known them
Ideally, your recommender is someone who should know you for at least a year.
Because this amount of time is enough for any teacher or manager to completely understand and talk about your personality. What they have worked on with you
The university will be looking for a recommender to talk about your academic and professional behaviour. So the fact that your recommender actually guided your work on a project or a research paper would mean that the recommendation isn’t just being given by a bystander; it’s from a person who has seen you in action. And that matters. Their qualifications
Although this should not be a high priority (unless you’re applying for a research program), a letter from a highly qualified recommender with a Ph.D., or a manager at a higher position, will speak volumes about your networking and intellectual skills.
As long as you keep these factors in mind while shortlisting your recommender, you should be able to find the right mentor with ease.
