Even though you have to figure out the test set-up on your own, taking the test from the quiet comfort of your home is worth it
So, if you have been preparing for the exam and have the needed equipment, room, and a speedy internet connection, go for it
But in case you don’t have the proper technical equipment, materials, and testing room, I suggest you wait it out.
The TOEFL online registration procedure is this –
Go to the “My TOEFL” homepage, select “Register”, and then “Find Test Centers”
On the “Find Test Centers and Dates” page, select the option for the “Special Home Edition” test
Make the standard payment of $180
Within a day, ProctorU will send you a log-in link, along with instructions to create an account and select the date and the time for your test
Create an account on the PTE Website.
Fill out your profile details, including Personal Details, Test Preferences, Exam History, etcetera.
Choose the center closest to you. Select the date of your convenience from the options available.
You will be prompted to confirm your account details and test day preferences before you go ahead. At this point, you can either continue or rethink and change your test date.
Make the required payment of 160 USD. After this, you will receive a confirmation email with the details of your exam and a payment receipt. You can also find them in your PTE account.
As you’re attempting each question, notice the question type. It may be a question asking the purpose behind a certain statement, a sentence insertion question, or a vocabulary testing question. At the end of the test, notice which question type you’re failing to answer, and improve your score accordingly.
If you cancel the exam 4 days before your exam date, you'll get a 50% refund.
Rescheduling, on the other hand, will cost you $60.
If you're planning to give it, anyway, I suggest you reschedule instead of cancel.
