A brief history of the university

The University of New Brunswick provides an engaging education in a community that champions, challenges, and supports its students as they pursue their futures. Additionally, UNB professors are industry leaders, developing technologies used by NASA and Google, pioneering plant-based medicine research, and leading Canada’s Institute for Cybersecurity.

UNB is Canada’s oldest English-language university, having been founded in 1785. Its main campuses are in Fredericton and Saint John, both in New Brunswick.
