      Hey Jay,

Finding the right place to live is critical. Accommodation at Bishop Grosseteste University strives to make the transition from home to higher education as smooth as possible. If you are an international student, you must live close to campus to comply with your visa.

      Hey Aaron,

In general, because student halls are conveniently located, carefully outfitted, and created exclusively for students, they tend to demand a higher price than comparable private housing, therefore, there are alternative options to explore.

      Hey Rajesh!

One of the most important questions to answer iswhich area of the city do you want to live in? This would typically be around the college campus for most people.

The questions to ask yourself are-

Do you want to live within walking distance of your college or a train/bus ride away from there?
Do you want to be down a block from a cool café or library that you found?
Would you be willing to live in a bustling locality with lots of facilities, or the green countryside with the cozy comforts of life?
Whatever you do, you don’t want to end up on the other side of town from where all the cool hangout spots are. Or worse, stuck in a commute that lasts hours. It is often the best practice to decide the locality you want to live in before finalizing the type of study abroad accommodation you want to have.

Read about all these points in detail here: A 9-step guide to find student accommodation abroad

      @Devki-Venkat

      Hey Devki,
One of the most significant decisions will be choosing a suitable place to stay for the course of your program. Where you choose to stay will affect your entire study abroad experience. It will affect your social life as well as your academic learning. It can be challenging to find a place to stay that meets all your needs. Here are a few student accommodation websites-

      Hey Robert,
In the Czech Republic, the cost of student housing in a dormitory ranges from 4,500 to 7,500 CZK (180-300 EUR).

A one-room apartment in the town costs 14.000 CZK (560 EUR), whereas a one-bedroom flat in the countryside costs 11.000 (440 EUR).

You may also rent a huge apartment with friends, in which case the average price of the room will be 7000-8000 CZK (280-320 EUR).

Also, understand that there's an application process
So, if you like a house, tell your broker
Then you will have to apply for that apartment
The owner will ask you to share a few details
And if you get chosen, you'll get the apartment

      Hi Meghana,
Usually, you should fly 1 to 2 weeks before the college starts.
But the date at which you can arrive on foreign soil will be mentioned in your I20/Visa documents.
If not, you can email the recruitment officer to find out.

In the Netherlands, it's cheaper to live on-campus than off-campus.
Living on campus also has a great prospect in terms of socialization and adaptation to diversity.
You’ll love how easy it is to get around the place with a bike – the preferred (and the cheapest) mode of transportation in the Netherlands.

It depends on your preferences as well.
If you want to live by yourself and money is not an issue, go for a studio apartment.
But if you can't live alone or you want to save, live with roommates.
