The IELTS test has no precise eligibility criteria mandated by the IELTS organizing bodies, IDP, and the British Council. The IELTS test is open to anybody above the age of 16, regardless of their nationality or ethnic origin.

1 IELTS Score Required by Top Universities

Each Educational institution has its own set of admission requirements and guidelines. Similarly, each university has its own set of IELTS eligibility criteria that candidates must meet in order to be admitted, and candidates should also meet the additional eligibility standards set by them.

2 IELTS Special Requirements

Candidates with special requirements can also take IELTS examinations.

Special students who meet the particular requirements can take the test, which provides equal opportunities to everyone who wishes to study and work abroad.

This special category includes:

3 IELTS Indicator Requirements

The IELTS Indicator is a new online IELTS exam structure that all applicants can take at home. It was introduced in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in order to provide some assistance to students seeking international admissions who are unable to undertake the IELTS exam in person.

Candidates from India who are attempting the IELTS Indicator must meet specific conditions before taking the exam, as mentioned below.

  • Candidates must have access to a home computer, either a laptop or a desktop with a good webcam.
  • To prevent interruptions during the test, the place or room where the candidates will take the test must be calm and comfortable.
  • You need a good internet connection.
  • The candidate must be equipped with high-quality headphones.
  • To take exams, candidates must first download and install the Zoom application and the Safe Exam Browser (SEB).
