The IELTS test has no precise eligibility criteria mandated by the IELTS organizing bodies, IDP, and the British Council. The IELTS test is open to anybody above the age of 16, regardless of their nationality or ethnic origin.

IELTS Academic is for candidates interested in pursuing their higher education in an English-speaking country and those who are seeking job opportunities or work-related training should apply for the IELTS General Training test.

The IELTS certification is frequently used by candidates to relocate to developed countries such as the UK, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia. An overall score of band 7.0 and a score of band 6.5 in each section is preferred by the major educational institutions around the world.

You need an overall IELTS score of band 7.0 with section scores of band 6.5 to be accepted by prominent schools and universities worldwide.
