About

Students in the Ancient History degree programme will study the ancient Greek and Roman cultures as well as the predominantly Christian period of late Antiquity (approximately 1,000 B.C.E. to 700 C.E.). Students in the Bachelor��s degree programme in Ancient History will become acquainted with basic knowledge of the historical events and geography of Classical Antiquity. They will also gain insight into the most important methods of historical analysis and interpretation. Students pursuing the degree programme as a major subject will gain proficiency in collecting, critically discussing, and forming a contextually-relevant assessment of historical source materials. On the basis of selected topics, students will gain an in-depth understanding of historical interrelationships.

Eligibility Requirements:

International students must submit their valid residence permit before enrolling in the respective degree programme. The general requirements to enrol in an academic programme are a university entrance qualification and proof of sufficient language proficiency. Recognition of foreign university entrance qualifications takes place during the admission procedure after the university has received the application for a degree programme.
