Hood College is a private liberal arts college in Frederick, MD, an hour away from both Baltimore and Washington, D.C. Originally founded in 1893 by the United Church of Christ, Hood was a womens college for most of its 120-year history, only becoming fully coeducational in 2003. Hood offers 33 programs of study and 12 post-baccalaureate certificate programs, as well as an honors program, which offers interdisciplinary learning opportunities as well as co-curricular activities.
